Overview

Sounding rockets, or rocketsondes, are launched into space along a parabolic trajectory and are designed to gather measurements during their flight. They are equipped with various instruments for space science research and collecting meteorological data on temperature, humidity, wind, and pressure. These rockets can reach altitudes of 50 to 150 km above the surface, which is typically between the heights of weather balloons and satellites.
